On a Personal Note: Spacecraft in the Solar System

We have spacecraft roaming the solar system. Some are parked in orbit around Earth, and some around Mars. We’ve sent some to collect interstellar dust, others to fly-by most of the planets at one time or another. One spacecraft even landed on a comet.

It take so many people to design, develop, build, test, and operate the spacecraft, let alone the people involved in launching that spacecraft on top of a rocket into space, let alone the scientists who vested interest in the science instruments on board, and the data to be returned.
Can you imagine what’s involved with getting data in the scientists, say, from a Mars rover?
I was so fortunate to have worked in the field for the few years I did. It seems long ago now (Is ten years long?), but I still remember the dedicated people I had the honor of knowing.
