Cindy Rae Johnson loves a good story. In her youth she literally dreamed stories and recorded her ideas.

Now she writes.

Younger Years
Although her younger years were spent Iowa, Missouri, and Illinois, Cindy Rae spent her formative years in the heat and humidity of South Texas. She lugged large stacks of books home from the local library on a weekly basis with an occasional foray outside to windsurf in the warm waters of the Laguna Madre.

Education
In high school she did well in English, so, of course, in college she studied electrical engineering. A National Merit Scholar, Cindy Rae completed her bachelor’s after spending several semesters as a co-op engineering student at a chemical production site.  After graduation she went to work for a Fortune 50 computer company to develop software.

Early Career
During her early career she developed software for over a million personal computers in Houston, with her maiden name going on 4 patents. Later, in Colorado, she explored the beauty of the Rocky Mountains while working on a handful of unmanned interplanetary spacecraft for NASA. Some of the software she wrote is onboard a spacecraft still orbiting Mars today.

Today
She now lives in a beautiful old American Foursquare home in the wind-swept plains of Nebraska with her husband and son. When she is not working in software development or writing, she enjoys time with her son, reading, and exploring the outdoors.
